My first writing project was to write five similes pertaning to the topic of Halloween. A simile compares two different things using like or as. Here are some examples that I wrote.
The orange pumpkin is as bright as the sun.

The scary wolf had sharp teeth like a vampire.

Some Jack-o-lanterns are scary like haunted cornfields.

I like pumpkin pie, and it is as good as ripe oranges.

Chocolate candy is as good as baked potato chips.


Learning Project-Snakes


There are over 3000 kinds of snakes.
A seven meter-python can squeeze the life out of you!
Some snakes grow no longer than a pencil!
Some snakes live in sea.
Snakes do not see like people do.


Snakes are going to become endangered.
Snakes are cool.

They might find new snakes.
Snakes will start living in people’s houses.
There are not very many snakes in the world.

Learning Project-Bears

Facts Alaska is bear country. Many bears are killed each year. Most bears tend to avoid people. Bears need plenty of room. Brown grizzly bears are found from the islands of southeastern Alaska to the arctic. Bear cubs are really playful. Bears come in many different colors. Bears are very strong. Bears are large strong omnivores. There are eight different species of bears.

Learning Project 3- Toucans

Taco Toucans live in South America’s tropical forests.

The toucan’s beak is 7.5 inches long.

Did you know that toucans live in flocks of six?

There are thirty-seven species of toucans!

Toucans can live up to be 20 years old!

Did you know the Taco Toucan is the largest toucan of all?

The Chestnut Toucan can grow up to 1.5 feet, but they’re not the biggest toucan.

The Toucan’s beak can be up to 7 inches long.

Toucans live on treetops, but they nest in holes in the tree.

The Harpy Eagle is a predator to a Toucan, but that’s just one.
