HunterD

Welcome to My Fourth Grade English Wiki Page

My first writing project was to write five similes pertaining to the topic of Halloween. A simile compares two different things using like or as. Here are some that I wrote.

My round, bright orange pumpkin is as fat and short as an orange.

The tall pumpkin’s pulp was as gooey as nacho cheese.

My mom baked a pumpkin pie that was as big as a haunted house.

I put a candle as white as a ghost in my creepy, smiling pumpkin.

My friend has a pumpkin that is as scary as a witch.

Opinions

The Colorado Mountains are as cool as the stars in space.
The Colorado Mountains are as big as the moon.
The Colorado Mountains look like somebody took a carving knife and carved all the details. The Colorado Mountains are as beautiful as the world. It would be very cool to live near the Colorado Mountains.
Learning Project-Turkeys

Some say Columbus thought the turkey was part of the peacock family. So he decided to call them “tuka” which is the word for peacock in the language of India.

Turkey is raised year round in Canada in specially designed barns.

Most turkeys raised on farms are White Hollands.

Ben Franklin thought the North American wild turkey should be the national bird (rather than the bald eagle).

The largest turkey raised was 39.09 kilograms (86 pounds)—about the size of a large dog.

A turkey has 157 bones in its body.

Do you think the zonkey’s lifestyle is a herd?
Yes, the zonkey’s lifestyle is a herd.

Do you think zonkey is the right name for this animal? No, according to scientists, zonkey is not the correct name for this cross between a zebra and a donkey. Scientists think the proper name should be zedonk.

If you get a zonkey you must feed them hay, grains, and sweet feed.

Zonkeys are like horses, you must groom, feed, and love them.

The camouflaging quality of a zonkey is similar to that of a zebra, and this protects them from their main predator, the lion, which is color blind.

A zonkey is a rare hybrid animal, a cross between a zebra stallion and a donkey, and the former is the father and the latter is the mother in this particular breeding.

The tallest zonkey that has been bred up till now is from a Grevy Zebra, but the height of an average zonkey is approximately 5.2 ft.

Zonkeys are kept in zoological centers for public interest, and they are also known as zebronkey, zeedonk, zedong, donbra, zebrinny, zebradonk, and deebra.

A zonkey’s habitat is either open plains or bushy grasslands.

Both the zebra and the donkey belong to the horse family, but the zonkey belongs to the Animalia Kingdom.
