My first writing project was to write five similes pertaining to the topic of Halloween. A simile compares two different things using like or as. Here are some I wrote.
The creepy graveyard was as quiet as a mouse.

The spooky tombstone was as hard as a rock.

The scary tombstone was as still as a coffin.

In a span of 7 years, 2 white tailed deer can produce a herd of 35.

Male deer shed and regrow their antlers every year.

These large mammals weigh 110 to 300 pounds.

Most white tailed deer live about 2 to 3 years.

When running, a deer takes a long stride, with its tracks spaced as for as 25 feet apart.

The white tailed deer’s scientific name is Odocoileus viginiaus.

Females give birth to 1-3 fawns at one time.

Deer can run up to 35 mph.

Their large ears can rotate up to 180 degrees.
Deer can live up to 11 years in the wild.

It is important that ferrets should be neutered before they reach full maturity, and descenting is recommended.
Ferrets must have a proper cage.
Wow, ferrets can be lots of fun!
It is the ferret’s owner’s job to take care of it.
The ferret’s cage must be large enough.

Breeding ferrets is not easy, but it can be done.

Ferrets are very active.

Male ferrets tend to be larger than the females,but they can be just as big.

Ferrets like to cuddle, but love to explore.

Ferrets have no fear of humans.
